Newsletter

I’m interested in writing within the tensions of our humanity, holding space for the both and: our joy and our grief, beauty and brokenness, courage and fear, celebration and rage, and everything in between.

My hope is that my writing has the ability to connect to what lies at the core of being human. Whether I am writing poetry, a newsletter, or an essay my writing aims to be honest, attentive, and centered around connection. May these words housed here connect and encourage you.

Fear/Flourish Compilation: June 2022

Fear/Flourish Compilation June 2022 Introduction:  In March, as spring was approaching, I was thinking a lot about both the words fear and flourish. I asked a few friends which word I should use as the next prompt. I had wanted to do a prompt on fear for a long time, but admittedly was fearful to […]

Speak Compilation(Poetry Edition): May 2021

Speak: Poetry Edition  May 2021 For this compilation, I wanted to return back to an older prompt, but focus it in on poetry. With each compilation, I noticed more and more people were writing poetry. I had never done a genre focused prompt, but in honor of April being poetry month, I wanted to try […]

Remember Compilation: January 2021

Remember Compilation  January 2021 When I was trying to determine the next prompt to share with people, I was seeking to find a word that would feel open-ended and a word that could invoke a potentially healing writing process. When I thought about the word healing, the word remember came to my mind. The word […]

Brave Compilation: April & June 2020

BRAVE COMPILATION  April 2020 & June 2020 In the midst of the pandemic, I wanted to create a space for people to write and share their words. I kept thinking about how much bravery was taking place in so much uncertainty. I was also thinking about how the very act of writing is brave.  And […]

One Word Compilation: March 2020

One-Word Compilation  March 2020 Over the past couple of years I have been asking people to write in response to various prompts. Often these prompts have been specific and geared towards a question or a specific word. This time around, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to do a prompt that […]

Speak Compilation: November 2019

Speak Compilation  November 2019  It has been five years since I have started to ask others to share their writing through these compilations. This year though is the first year that I am asking people to write every day through teaching. As I ask my students to write, I am constantly reminded that the process […]

What does the world need more of and less of? Compilation: April 2019

What does the world need more? What does the world need less of compilation?  April 2019 This question can be taken in a million different directions. It is a complicated and complex question because when we say we need more of something, we are also saying we need less of something else. And vise versa.  […]

What Do You See? Compilation: Dec. 2018

What do you see? Compilation  November- December 2018 Sight. Vision. Perspective. It is all a beautiful mystery to me. We all see from different vantage points. Sometimes we choose what we see and what we don’t see. Sometimes we cannot choose what we see and that can be the most painful element to sight. Sometimes […]

Home Compilation: September 2018

Home Compilation  September 2018 I every so often will ask people to write on a prompt or a word.
