May’s Poem. Reunion.

Reunion.

May was a reunion of sorts.

A month marked by

Celebrating

Gathering

Transitioning

A beautiful union between two saying I do

becoming a reunion for many

A field day

becoming a holy space

of kids getting to finally gather

Together again

As kids

After a year behind the screen

Isolated in the great in between

An end of a school year carrying with it

the weight

and

release

of a year of

constant transitioning

The celebrating of the end carrying with it

Our resiliency

As we celebrated, gathered, and transitioned out,

Together again,

We healed.

May was a reunion of sorts.

A month marked by

Releasing

Recounting

Remembering

Reflecting

Rejoicing

Rejoining

                Together again.

It was a month of

Practicing presence

While simultaneously

Processing the past

Needing to hold space for

The

Both And

Tears were shed-

of gratitude,

of grief

of joy, and

of relief

Hugs were given-

the gift of touch

and

Presence not taken lightly

Laughter was shared-

And became the drumbeat

behind the healing song

that May sang

As she invited us to dance

Together again.

May was a reunion of sorts.

A month marked by

People

Play

And

A lot of fullness

And

A lot of gifts of grace.

A healing song she sang.

A healing song I am still singing.

May we sing it together again in June.
